Summary
I have some opinions and thoughts on the Deception arc, as well as general reaction and handling of the Deception arc in fandom. Most of this analysis is an in-world look at how the Deception arc is structured and what forces are at play in the decision making of various characters.
This is not to say you shouldn't write a deception-arc-centered fic however you damn well please, these are just my thoughts looking at the arc from the perspective of someone with political science training, a love of international relations theory (sometimes written as IR in here), and general enthusiasm for puzzling out operational security. I wrote it out on a whim and figured I would share it if anyone wanted to see it and/or engage with it.
