Jiang Cheng squints and steps a little closer, reaching out to trace a finger along a curving path of puncture wounds on the other boy’s forearm and his heart skips. Then he yanks up his sleeve and stares down at the scatter of tiny plum blossoms on his own forearm that showed up a couple of days ago, and moves to stand next to Wei WuXian and line their arms up next to each other.
They match perfectly.

Shiro turns to face him, then, eyelashes glittering like stars as his gaze roams from Ro’s face to his feet and back again, slowly darkening with heat. He reaches behind himself and blindly shuts off the water before stalking across the short expanse between them and crowding Ro against the wall.
He’s slick and warm all along Ro’s front, looming over him somehow, even though they‘re the same height. Hot lips press against his cheekbone and Ro’s spine stiffens, blood rushing south so fast it leaves his head swimming.

Nicolo Genova, or Nicky to his American friends, is just trying to get through his PhD program. Yusuf chokes on water and Nicolo pounds his back, eyebrows peaked with concern.
“I—” Yusuf pauses, wiping his streaming eyes.
Sarwa looks at him, nothing but mild curiosity on her face.
Yusuf glances at Nicolo. The firelight paints his cheekbones flickering gold, his eyes hooded and sleepy in the dim light.
“I don’t know what he is,” Yusuf finally admits, still looking at Nicolo.
Nicolo’s mouth quirks and he takes another bite of soup.
“He looks at you like you belong to him,” Sarwa says.
Nicolo keeps eating, oblivious to what they’re saying.
“I think he belongs to me too,” Yusuf whispers.
