Qrow loved camping. He honestly did. But when your husband, who'd forgotten how much walking camping meant, woke you in the middle of the night having trouble breathing, the first thing Qrow did was look for Oz's inhaler.
"Not." Breath. "There." Breath. And Qrow could tell the other was freaking out a bit. His breathing was a wheeze now, high and thin. It grated on Qrow's already tightly strung nerves.
"Shit, Oz! Where is it?"
"Coat." Breath. "Think."
Qrow quickly checked both their coat pockets and cursed again. *Godsdamn it* The one time Oz actually needed his inhaler and it wasn't anywhere to be found.
Turning to face the other Qrow sighed. "It's not here. Damn it, Oz. I thought I told you to put it in with the gear?" Qrow shuffled closer to his husband and wrapped his arms around him. "Shhh, I know it doesn't feel easy right now but try to take a deep breath for me, ok? That's it. Shhh, take another."
As Oz took the advice and tried to breathe as best as he could he became aware of someone singing.
"Listen children to a story that was written long ago, about a kingdom on a mountain and the valley folk below. On the mountain was a treasure buried deep beneath a stone and the valley people swore they'd have it for their very own."
Humming the chorus part Qrow nuzzled his cheek against Ozpin's and picked up the second verse.
"So the people of the valley sent a message up the hill, asking for the buried treasure, tons of gold for which they'd kill. Came an answer from the kingdon, with our brother's we will share all the secrets of our mountain, all the riches buried there. Now the valley cried with anger "mount your horses, draw your swords!" And the killed the mountain people, so they won their just reward. Now they stood beside the treasure, on the mountain dark and red. Turned the stone and looked beneath, "peace on Earth" was all it said."
Qrow broke into the chorus now and Oz sagged against his chest, breathing normal and evening back into sleep.
Hearing the song stop he felt dry lips press a kiss to his forehead and being lain down, arms circling his waist.
"Night, love," Qrow whispered.
Oz hummed in response and burrowed his face into Qrow's chest, sleep claiming both of them in a matter of seconds.
