It was nearly three in the morning when Seokjin heard loud yelling and a bang from outside his bedroom. He swung his legs over the edge of the bed and slowly got up to make his way outside. Opening the door the yelling, now mixed with laughter, intensified and he cringed, still being very sensitive to noises after waking up. When he stopped into the living room he saw Taehyung and Hoseok grasping each other while laughing almost hysterically. They had gone drinking, the eldest vaguely remembered, still too tired to think properly. Obviously, they had had success, if them sing-yelling ‘Gashina’ was any indication.
“Would you please be quiet?”, Seokjin asked a little irritated.
“Hyungie!!”, Taehyung shouted and hugged the elder tightly. He reeked of alcohol and the oldest stomach turned unpleasantly. Carefully he shoved the younger off him.
“No, not ‘Hyungie’, it’s three in the morning, Tae, and some people would like to sleep!”
“But, Hyung”, Hoseok whined dramatically.
“We want to have fun!”
“You’ve obviously had enough fun for tonight. Go to bed and be quiet. I don’t want you to wake up the others, Jimin was dead tired today.”
“Jiminie!”, the youngest in the room exclaimed excitedly and went to sneak into the elders room. Seokjin just sighed and turned back to Hoseok, about to lecture him for getting so drunk, but stopped short when he noticed the younger staring at him intently.
The dancer suddenly stepped forward and wrapped his arms around Seokjin, leaning into him heavily.
“Hyung, I wish more people would be like you.”
Seokjin looked at him for a moment, slightly confused. Where was this coming from all of a sudden?
“Do you realize how important you are to me? You are like my guardian angel”, the younger slurred, rubbing his face on Seokjin’s shoulder. Seokjin felt butterflies filling his stomach. The relationship between him and the younger had changed in the last few months. They had gotten a lot closer and now the singer was not sure what exactly they were. Though he knew what he wanted them to be.
“Hobi, I-I think you should go to bed…!”
Hoseok looked up into his elders eyes and a bright grin started to stretch his lips.
“With you?”, he asked, wiggling his eyebrows. Seokjin turned beet red and tried to untangle himself from the rapper.
“Yo-you should really sleep, Hoseok-ah”, he stuttered, slowly pushing the younger away before he could do something stupid. Like taking him up on the offer. But Hoseok wouldn’t move an inch, only holding on tighter.
Suddenly Hoseok’s grin turned into a dreamy smile, his gaze still holding Seokjin’s.
“I really love you. You are one of my brightest stars in the night sky, one where I can always count on to find my way back home.”
It was dead silent as the singer’s eyes widened and his mouth opened in disbelieve. That was all Hoseok needed to take his chance, pulling Seokjin down and kissing him lovingly. The older didn’t respond immediately, still shocked and not able to comprehend what he’d just heard, and stood there frozen. When he was able to move again, he threw caution to the wind and kissed back. Hoseok smelled and tasted like alcohol and it was a little disgusting but the older didn’t care. He’d dreamed of this moment to happen, pretty sure it never would. But here he was now, kissing his drunk friend at three in the morning, and for a short while the world was just utterly beautiful.
When Hoseok’s knees gave out they broke the kiss, giggling.
“My legs are tired”, he slurred, grinning like an idiot.
“They tell you to go to bed, Hoseokie. I’m gonna help you”, the older said, feeling his face heat up while processing the whole event.
With too much effort for the current time Seokjin escorted the younger to his room and tucked him into bed. As he was about to leave, though, a hand wrapped around his wrist and stopped him.
“What’s with my good night kiss?”
“Good night kiss?”
“Yeah, how am I supposed to sleep well without one?”, he pouted with such cute puppy eyes that Seokjin couldn’t refuse. He leaned down and pecked Hoseok’s lips before waving while leaving the room while the younger fell asleep with a big satisfied smile on his face.
Seokjin closed the door behind himself and sighed, still feeling the butterflies. Maybe Hoseok was too drunk and would not remember the kissing and the singer’s tomato-red face when he woke up in the morning.
(Hoseok did remember.)
