Katsuki was lounging on the living room couch as he watch Izuku scramble around the apartment to get everything ready for date night. Ever since the playdates turned out to be a success, the couple figured they would match the playdates with their date nights.
Stupid human. Katsuki doesn’t understand the distress that Izuku is going through as he tried tidying up the place. Katsuki rolled over onto his side and closed his eyes. He dearly misses his mate. Time away from Ochako were sad days for him. He just wants to be with her and shower her with his affection.
“Hello, Izuku speaking.” Izuku had his cellphone wedged between his shoulder and right ear as he checked the food that he made for Melissa and himself.
“Izuku…I can’t come tonight…”
Izuku straightened up and properly held his phone, “Melissa, what’s wrong?”
“It’s Ochako…I don’t what’s wrong with her but she just started throwing up… I need to take her to the emergency clinic.” In the background, Izuku can hear shuffling noises. Melissa must be worried sick as she was rushing to get Ochako to vet. Ochako was basically her baby.
“I’ll meet you there.” Izuku was determine to be there for her. He knew Melissa would do the same if their positions were reversed.
“No way, I’m going to be there with you. I love you and I wouldn’t want you to be alone when they take Ochako.”
Ochako!? Katsuki’s head popped up upon hearing his mate’s name. What happened to Ochako, human!?
Katsuki walked after Izuku, who was getting still on the phone as he attempted to slip on his shoes. Hey, human! What has happened to Ochako?
Izuku glanced down at Katsuki, “Melissa I will see you there. Keep me posted if anything happens, okay?”
“Okay. Thank you so much Izuku.”
After hanging up his phone, Izuku crouched down and made eye direct eye contact with Katsuki. “Katsuki, I’m going out. Something is wrong with Ochako and Melissa is worried.” It may seem farfetched but Izuku likes to believe his cat understands him.
Take me with you human! Katsuki hissed and jumped onto Izuku. He made sure to use his claws to remain latched onto Izuku.
Izuku sighed, “I should have seen this coming.” Knowing his cat and his deep affection for Ochako, there is no way Katsuki is going to let him walk out of his home without him. Izuku wrapped one of his arms around his cat’s body and headed out to the emergency clinic.
By the time the two arrived at the clinic, Melissa and Ochako were already in a room waiting to be seen by one of the veterinarians. They were led into the room and saw Ochako laying on the examination table with Melissa caressing her head lovingly.
Katsuki wiggled out of Izuku’s hold and nudged his head against Ochako’s. What’s wrong?
Katsuki? Ochako meowed, I’m sorry for worry you. I’m not sure but I haven’t been feeling well lately.
Don’t be. Katsuki started licking the top of Ochako’s head, who in turn started to purr.
At the door, stood an elderly woman in a white doctor’s coat. In her hands, she had a clipboard of the information provided by Melissa when they arrived at the clinic.
“Now what seems to be the problem, dearies?” The vet looked at the couple as she asked this. Melissa spoke up, “My cat, Ochako, she started throwing up out of no where. There was no changes in her diet or showed any signs of sickness until recently.”
“And the other cat?” The vet glanced at Katsuki. It seems that Katsuki took a defensive position above Ochako. He didn’t completely covered Ochako’s body with his but it was enough to get the idea that he would attack if any harm was brought to her.
“I’m sorry about him. He is deeply attached to Ochako.” Izuku apologized.
“I see. Well then deary, I think I might know what might seemed to be the problem. But I need to ask you a couple more questions and then take a look at your dear cat.”
Katsuki watched the humans with caution as he shielded Ochako with part of his body. He may trust his human and Ochako’s human but that’s it. Seeing a human stranger placed him on guard.
Katsuki, Ochako pawed at his chest, it’s okay. That human is only here to see what’s wrong with me.
I don’t care. I don’t know who that human is and I need to make sure you are safe. Katsuki glanced down at her before focusing his attention at the humans again.
Katsuki. She meowed with affection. She knew his concerns were well placed and appreciated it. She nuzzled her head against his chest. She really missed him.
“Congratulations. Ochako is pregnant,” the vet looks at Izuku, “and judging by how protective your cat is of her. It is safe to assume he is the father.”
Izuku and Melissa were in shock.
Disregarding the two’s outburst, she continued to explain what was to be expected from Ochako’s pregnancy. “Cat pregnancies are roughly two months long. And this being Ochako’s first, she’ll probably have a litter of two to three kittens. I suggest you follow up with your regular vet about this to help you better prepare.”
Kittens! Ochako’s perked her head up and looked at her mate with big, sparkling eyes. Katsuki! We are having kittens!
Kittens. Katsuki looked down at her. We’re having kittens?
Ochako meowed in confirmation and purred as she started to snuggle against his body. We’re having kittens.
It’s been weeks since the whole emergency clinic episode. During that time, Melissa and Izuku were doing their best to create a comfortable environment for their cats. Katsuki was temporarily moved to Melissa’s place to stay with his mate. Plus he refuses to leave Ochako’s side ever since they found out that they would be having kittens.
“Izuku, are you sure we have everything?” Melissa has been a mess as of late. She became a nervous wreck as it got closer to the time frame of when Ochako would be giving birth.
“I’m sure.” Izuku has been nothing but a great boyfriend for Melissa during this time. Plus it was partly his fault that Ochako is pregnant. He didn’t consider the possibility that Katsuki was going to impregnate her.
Tsk…Dumb humans. Katsuki doesn’t understand why the humans are moving around so much in the apartment. He got the sense that Ochako’s human was worried about the pregnancy but there is really nothing to worry about. He was here. He is damn sure he can take care of his mate just fine.
Katsuki decided it was best to ignore the humans and just focus on the task at hand: making sure Ochako is comfortable. He was able to snatch the throw blanket that was on the couch and is currently tugging it to where Ochako is nested.
I’m back. Katsuki pulled the throw blanket and had part of it cover Ochako’s plump body. The rest of the blanket was nudged around her body as if creating a nest. Satisfied with his work, Katsuki took his place behind Ochako and curled his body around hers.
Welcome back. Ochako has become rather lethargic over the weeks. She was still really affectionate but her expanding belly has made it quite hard to move around. So most days, she can found on her side in her makeshift nest that Katsuki created with all the soft things he found throughout Melissa’s apartment.
How are you feeling? Katsuki nuzzled his face against the side of her face.
Ochako stretched out her legs and purred. I’m okay. Just a little sleepy…I think the kittens are almost ready to come out soon.
Katsuki’s ears twitched. How soon?
Soon. Ochako turned her head and gave Katsuki a few licks to his cheek. I can’t wait to see our kittens.
Soon was right. Ochako gave birth to two healthy kittens a week and a half later. It was a rather eventful day when it happened. Melissa, as sweet as she is, nearly murdered the veterinarian for not answering her calls sooner when Ochako showed signs of going into labor. Izuku had to calm her down when the veterinarian finally arrived.
I got out now papa! A small, brown kitten pounced on Katsuki’s back while he was lounging on the couch.
The two rolled off the couch and tumbled around on the carpet floor. It was rather a common occurrence to happen ever since his daughter, Coco, was strong enough to walk around. She definitely took after Ochako. Regardless, Katsuki made sure to make it a point that he is the alpha in the family. He pinned Cocoa under his paws. You are still too small to take me down, runt. Now, where is your brother?
He’s with Mama. Cocoa meowed, she was waiting for father to release his hold. She has learned that squirming only results in him adding more pressure to his hold.
Katsuki removed his paws and grabbed Cocoa on the scruff of her neck. He carried her over to where his mate and other child was. Ochako was giving their son, Mocha, a bath. Mocha was a rather timid kitten and preferred staying by Ochako’s side. He only ever goes to Katsuki when Ochako was tending to his sister.
Mama! Cocoa wiggled out of Katsuki’s hold and jumped around in front her mother. Me, next! Me, next!
Ochako meowed and nudge her son to switch places with his sister. Come on, little one. It’s your sister’s turn.
Okay, Mama. Mocha moved and strolled over to Katsuki. He rubbed his face against Katsuki’s chest. Papa. I’m cold.
Katsuki pushed Mocha back to the beddings that he gathered during Ochako’s pregnancy and settled by Ochako. Well? Come on. You can stay by me while your mother cleans your sister. Mocha purred as he nuzzled into his father’s warmth.
Katsuki was happy. He stared down at his son then, at his daughter and finally, Ochako. Ochako.
Hmm? Ochako paused and looked up at him.
I love you. Katsuki rubbed his nose against Ochako’s, just like how she did to him at the beginning.
