Chapter Text

When Izuku was four, the doctor told him he didn’t have a quirk. Although that shattered him at the time, he never gave up. Even if his mother didn’t believe in him, he would be able to help people like All Might one day.

When Izuku was five, a small fell to the earth near his home at the local park. He was sad the park was destroyed, but curious to see what fell down, and of course got permission from his mom to go. “Don’t be out too long,” was his only warning. Wandering to the playground, finding a stick along the way, young Izuku was feeling adventurous. At the destroyed park, he saw a gloop of black slime moving around. He tried poking it with a stick, but it moved back. Izuku dropped the stick and crouched down, staring at it. The black slime moved back and launched at the young boy. Knocked back, the boy just wondered what happened, and went home.

A day later he found his best friend, Bakugo Katsuki bullying another kid for have a quirk “less awesome” than his. Although Bakugo was his friend, he had to defend this kid from Bakugo like All Might would. “Kacchan stop!” Izuku cried to his best friend.

“What are you going to do, fight back with the quirk you don’t have?” Bakugo taunted him, and then was hit with a black gloop that came out of Izuku’s hand. Bakugo was about to explode Izuku when a teacher came around. “Boys! No more play time for the rest of the week if you keep fighting with your quirks.”

“Kacchan was hurting someone!” Izuku pleaded.

“Don’t tattle tale. No more play time for you for the rest of the week Midoriya.”

“No buts. Go back to the classroom.”

“Okay.” Izuku’s shoulders sank and walked back into the building. Sitting down at one of the tables of his multicolored classroom, Izuku looked out the window at the other kids who were playing and he wasn’t. It sucked.

Hello Izuku.

The boy looked around. No one was there. That’s when a head came out from his shoulder.

Hello Izuku.

The child fell out of his seat.

“Alright calm down class! CALM DOWN!” Izuku’s teacher was giving students a handout. “You all want to go to the hero course correct?” The class’ volume rose and Izuku winced. Tomo didn’t like loud noises. Although they couldn’t help it, the class was excited for a good reason. “Don’t lump me in with these extras!” Bakugo practically screamed, “Because I’m aiming for the top! U.A.!”

“Hey, didn’t you also sign up for U.A. Midoriya?” The teacher asked. Izuku raised his head looking up from the handout to meet Bakugo’s eyes. “You better not get in my fucking way, Deku .”

“Afraid?” Izuku dangerously taunted.

“Scared of what? I haven’t seen you use your stupid quirk since we were five. I bet it’s not even that cool, dickwad.” Bakugo let off some mini explosions.

Izuku didn’t laugh but he did blow his air out of his nose.

Walking home there wasn’t anything interesting unless you count the bridge Izuku walked home every day under everyday. Which was why today was weird. He got attacked by some sludge dude but before they could fight back All Might came. And quite literally knocked the shit out of the sludge villain. All Might proceeded to empty out two bottles and started to collect the guy. “Do you need some help?” Izuku tried to collect himself and was proud of being able to talk to his hero without stuttering.

“Oh! Sure!” All Might handed him an empty coke bottle.

After they were done picking up the sludge villain, Izuku handed him the coke bottle and went on his way home.

You forgot to ask for an autograph.

Although today was already action packed enough, Izuku’s mother asked him to go out for a couple of groceries, and he had already finished his homework, and he loved his mother, so, of course he went. As he was shopping, he saw an abnormally skinny man.

That man smells like All Might.

Lucky for him the man was right next to him when right next to him while he was picking carrots. Also close enough to hear Izuku mutter “What the fuck?”

“Excuse me young m-”

“All Might?”

Chapter Text

Toshinori was having a relatively good day. The criminal he was chasing down was caught before any real damage had happened, and he had help collecting the D-rank villain, and even though they only had small talk, the boy who helped was really nice! Toshinori was surprised to see him again at the grocery store, but the boy wouldn’t notice him. Or so he thought. The young man muttered something under his breath. “Excuse me young m-,” before he could finish the boy turned to him and asked,

“All Might?”

Toshinori shushed the boy. “How did you know?” The boy pointed to his nose. Oh. Although smell related quirks weren’t uncommon, he was surprised nonetheless. “Does your quirk have to do with your sense of smell?” Toshinori should have asked to keep it a secret, but was curious.

“Oh I don’t have a quirk.”

“Then how did you know?”

“Well if I tell you then I’ll sound insane.” The man was at wits end figuring out what the hell was happening.  “I’ve seen a lot in my hero days, it's probably something I can handle.” Though Toshinori was bracing for something . For no reason.

“I… have an alien in my head? I think that’s the easiest way to put it.” It turns out Toshinori wasn’t ready. In fact out of all the things in the field that he has fought, he never had to deal with aliens . Let otherworldly beings on earth, Invasion of the Body Snatchers type of thing. The man took a deep breath and realized it probably wasn’t an alien. “Are you sure?” He found himself asking. He should have just asked not to spread his secret around. That would have been easier. Or to lie and say he wasn’t. These were both easier than the conversation that he had gotten himself into.

“I mean if a thing comes out of a meteor that crashes near your house, I’d call it an alien.” Well. Damn. The boy picked out some green onions and then turned to ask the man a question “Wait, I never asked for an autograph.” At this point Toshinori was appalled but chuckled a bit. “Well to be fair, I never asked you for your name!” A very weird conversation, and the boy asked for an autograph for all things.

“Midoriya Izuku.” The boy found a paper and pen at last handed them to Toshinori, who signed it.

The man also known as All Might, gave Izuku back his paper. Holy shit. Izuku smiled and then looked up at All Might. “Could you keep my true form a secret please?” Izuku nodded furiously. “Bye, er-”

“Yagi.” Holy shit.

“Bye Yagi-san!” Which was a lie. Because Izuku bumped into Yagi at least 50 more times before going home.

Izuku remembered this day before walking into U.A. ten months later. Walking onto the campus both he and Tomo had a surge of confidence going into the exams. And then immediately tripped. On flat concrete, which was just Izuku luck he guessed. But when he stopped falling, something was wrong. He was floating instead. “Sorry to use my quirk on you like that!” Izuku turned his head to see a brown haired girl there. “I just thought since falling is bad luck you didn’t want to do that on your way to the exams!”

“Oh, thank you!” The teen was released from his temporary weightlessness and was back on his feet.

“My name is Uraraka Ochaco, and yours?”

“Midoriya Izuku, good luck on exams!”

“Let’s do our best!” Uraraka pumped her fist in the air.

So this morning was going great. Izuku saw Present Mic! Which was amazing though he was just talking about the mechanics of the physical exam. But another kid yelled at him for talking too much during the presentation, which was fair even if he was just talking to Tomo. So Izuku shut up after that, though Tomo sure didn’t.

Who is he to tell you what to do. Someone who probably knows the rules better than he did. And the other student made a good point about the things they were going to be attacking in the physical. Present Mic addressed this by saying the fourth enemy on the sheet was a zero pointer , an enemy you can attack but shouldn’t, as the exam doesn’t concern them.

Why do I get the feeling we’re going to run into one of those things?

It’s just our luck.

They did run into a zero pointer. They were doing such a good job in the exam so far, seeing they did crush a number of robots, though a blonde kid who could shoot lasers out of his stomach looked at their face with disgust. Though they really didn’t mind. But the girl who had helped Izuku earlier was trapped under a pile of rubble with a zero pointer overhead. So they decided to rush in and help, by lifting the pile of rubble Uraraka was trapped under and quickly tossing it aside, they picked her up and jumped far away from the zero pointer.

“Thanks, but, who are you?” Uraraka asked.

We are Venom. They  answered.

Time’s up!”
