    Summary

Brienne has just celebrated her 13th nameday the first time she sees Jaime Lannister, only a few years older than herself, his golden hair glinting in the Tarth sunlight as he scampers through the rigging of the family ship.

    A lighthouse keeper/sailor AU, because that's... apparently a thing?

This is a lighthouse keeper/sailor AU set in a vague and distant time. It’s written in a lovely and poetic style but retains the feeling of Brienne’s down-to-earth nature. It’s vignettes of Jaime and Brienne meeting over and over through the years, the lives hinted at, the moments of connection we see. There’s a truly beautiful scene set in a storm. It ends in a way that makes my heart swell. This fic is so gorgeous and so lyrical but also very grounded in the world and the space she creates. I haven’t stopped thinking about it since I read it.
