The Warrior Code

The word of the Clan leader is the warrior code. But cats may challenge a weak or cruel leader if their Clan is in danger, and if their leadership threatens their Clan.

Defend your Clan, even with your life. You may have friendships with cats from other Clans, but your loyalty must remain to your Clan, as one day you may meet them in battle.

Cats may take a mate from another Clan but the relationship must be made known to their Clan Leader in one moon of the relationship:

Cats are not allowed to hunt or trespass on another Clan's territory except for if they have something to report or to ask for help. And are allowed to cross other Clans' territories to get to the Moonstone/pool.

Kits queens, elders and the sick or injured must be fed before apprentices and warriors. Unless they have permission, apprentices may not eat until they have hunted to feed the elders.

Prey is killed only to be eaten. Give thanks to the Gods for its life. Pray is also not meant to be played with.

Kits must stay in camp until they are apprenticed and are only allowed to leave when accompanied by a Warrior and Healer.

A kit must be given a medical check up by a healer and six moons old to become an apprentice. A leader may delay an apprenticeship for medical reasons but cannot forbid a kit from becoming one. After resiwving their name the Apprentice will be taken to the Moonstone/pool by their mentor to speak to their ansesters.

Newly made warriors will keep a silent vigil for one night after receiving their name.

A cat cannot be made deputy without having successfully mentored at least three apprentices.

The deputy will become Clan leader after the leader dies, retires, or is exiled.

After the death, retirement, promotion exile of the former deputy, the new deputy must be chosen before moonhigh.

A Gathering of all five Clans is held at the full moon during a truce that lasts for the night. There shall be no fighting at any point at this time.

Boundaries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all trespassing cats. But are forbidden from challenging or attacking cats if they are on a mission that every Clans has agreed upon.

No warrior can neglect a kit in pain or danger, no matter where they are from.

A warrior will not kill another cat to win a battle, unless it is necessary for self-defense. If a warrior breaks this rule and kills their opponent they will hunt for the cats family for three moons.

Each Clan must help the others so that no Clan will fall.

The safety of the Clan as a whole is more important than the safety of only one cat.

Clans will not unite together to drive out another Clan or force another Clan to share territory.

Cats are not allowed to have a mate until they are fully grown Warriors Syble’s or Healers. If a cat is caught trying to take a mate with an apprentice or kit they will be exiled or torn appart by the victoms family members:

If a queen is caught abusing their kit they will be severely punished and have their kits given to another queen.

A leader will not give an apprentice a cruel warrior name for a disability or deformity. They are also not allowed to rename a kit for the same reasons.

Syble/Healer Code

A medicine cat can take a mate but is not allowed to have kits unless they have a well trained apprentice or someone able to help take care of the kits while they are workinh.

They will never let personal feelings in the way of their duties.

Both Syble’s and Healers are outside of clan rivalries.

Thru must do everything in their power to save a sick or injured cat.

A medicine cat may be trained as a warrior before becoming a syble or healer. And are able to become a normal warrior before they retire if they feel it is best.

Both Syble’s and Healer’s must learn fighting and hunting moves.

A Syble must be able to interpret dreams, prophecies, omens and signs given to them by the Gods.

A Healer cannot reject an injured or sick cat in need. And are able to go against their Leader to do it if the cat in question is in danger.

A Healer will give their life to save a cat.

When a Syble gets a sign from the Gods they must speak to their Leader Deputy or the other Syble’s about it soon after getting it.

Syble’s and Healer’s Cannot force an unwilling kit or apprentice to become their apprentice if they do not want to. If they try they will be punished by there Leader.

Chapter Text

In a small, almost deserted clearing, deep in the forest, a large white tabby tom sat alone, staring up at the clear night sky. All around him in the shadows, he could hear the breathing and stirrings of sleeping cats as they rested after the night's defeat. Thistlestar had sent them to defend a part of territory against RiverClan and was furious when he was told they had lost.

Two cats came toward him, one a small, pretty tortoiseshell covered in a turtle shell and the other a dark gray and white molly covered in Berrys, both their pawsteps almost soundless on the frost-covered grass.

The tom dipped his head to them in greeting. "How is Mousethroat doing?" he asked, looking at the white molly who smiled warmly.

‘Her wounds are deep, but she's strong; and will heal up quickly.’ the white molly moved her paws in the signs of pawspeak, settling herself down in the cold, wet grass.

"And the others?"

‘They’ll all recover to don’t worry about that, Tigerroar.’

Tigerroar sighed. "We’re lucky we didn't lose anyone this time. You’re a gifted healer, Cloudberry." He tilted his head again and studied the stars. Making Cloudberry smile slightly.

"Are you asking the gods for answers? Because if you are, you know that’s mine and Ravenpaw’s job." The tortoiseshell tried to joke, following his gaze staring up at the stars glittering overhead.

"No," he smirked, shoving the molly who was a close friend and the mate of his brother's mate gently in the shoulder. "Have they spoken to you recently, Turtlepelt?"

"Not for some." She sighed softly, turning her blind amber gaze up to the sky.

Suddenly a shooting star shot across the sky. Turtlepelt's tail twitched, and the fur along her spine bristled.

Tigerroar's ears pricked, but he remained silent as her fur fluffed up.

After a few more moments, Turtlepelt lowered her head, and she turned to him. "The gods sent me a message," she murmured. "Fire will burn away the shadows and will be cleansed with water's flow."

‘Does that mean the fire will save our clan?" Cloudberry asked, moving her paws and tail quickly.

Turtlepelt just shook her head. "I don't know, but that was what they chose to share with me. So we’ve gotta trust them."

The ThunderClan deputy fixed his pale amber eyes on the shorter molly. "You’ve never been wrong before, so if The gods sent you this, then it has to be true." He looked back up at the sky. "Fire is going to save our clan."
