It was clear from the get-go, in possibly the simplest of words, that humanity was totally and utterly fucked. You didn’t even have to paint sign saying “the end is near”, strip naked and stand in the street outside of some kind of corporate building while proclaiming that Armageddon was nigh for it to be considered. Sure, there were people in denial, but they’d probably be the first to die, as it usually is with these situations. Humans were destructive, self-serving and violent at their worst.

At their best? A slightly handicapped mechanic who has lost basically everyone she loves except for ten deeply traumatized people, one of them currently dying, and one of them having her life extended after her lover implanted her consciousness into his brain. Sometimes you wish for simpler times. How long has it been since someone's saved the world before the dreaded world-ending problem actually happened?

Never, because apparently a story is better if everyone suffers and nobody gets what they deserve, whether that be good or bad.

How....ë̸̹̫̇͛ͅṇ̸̢̗̬̗͓̇̄̆̈́̿͘͜t̷͍͂ě̷̢̗̺͕͑r̸̗͎̮̺͇̰̀̋̒̍t̵̛͕̭̜̜͕̅͊a̵̡̳͔̖̱͒́̎ǐ̵̧͚̖̀̀͜ņ̵̛̭̬̠̇͂́͂̇͐̈̚ͅȋ̵͉̹̑n̶̛̳͍̖̟̳̗̮̯̊͑̇̓͒͆g̴̰̪̥̯̣̣̭̪̽̈̓̒͝ distressing.

Suppose someone took pity on those despair filled souls? What if there was someone who could prevent all those deaths? What if they didn't? Interfering with a world could have disastrous outcomes. We wouldn't want that? Would we? Time is running out. A decision must be made. I suppose this one will do.

They're going to d̷̢̲͓̯̄̎̎̚ĩ̴͓̫͖͔ę̷͙̪͚͖͚̼̤̱͍͛̄, how fun
